CLASSIFICATION EQUIPMENT AND VIBRATION FLOW


The VSFR (Vibration Sorting & Flow Rig) is a concept developed by TT that combines the functionality of the TT VSR 3 and VTR 100 in one package, primarily designed for the smallest turbo repair shop.

The VSFR is a high speed core balancing machine, for measuring and correcting the imbalance of the turbocharger core assemblies, and a vane flow testing machine for measuring and adjusting the mass air flow through turbochargers of variable geometry. The combination of functions provides two machines in one, providing an economical package and smaller space to save space in a small workshop.

HIGH SPEED BALANCE

VSR ™


When used for balancing, the center casing swivel assembly (CHRA) is mounted on an adapter that acts as a slave turbine casing. The core (CHRA) is powered by compressed air at rotational speeds of up to 300,000 rev / min (depending on model size) and measured vibration level. The VSFR includes the patented TT multiple adapter that allows many different types of turbochargers to be tested with a single adapter.

Dedicated software records data in real time, displaying a two-dimensional speed / vibration graph and an unbalance position indicator. CHRA can be balanced across the entire speed range, which generally covers the first and second vibration modes. To reduce cycle times, a manual air cutter can be used to make balance cuts without removing CHRA from the machine.

FLOW ADJUSTMENT

As a vane test bench, complete turbochargers are mounted on the machine in a universal retaining block, and air connections are made using inlet and outlet magnetic adapters. The machine flows air through the turbo with the VNT mechanism in a closed position and measures air flow while maintaining constant pressure at the turbine inlet (Turbo VNT Operation). A specific software template is selected that contains data for the correct flow and actuator travel figures for the turbocharger being tested. The measured values are displayed on the screen in graphical and numerical form and the actuator is adjusted until the flow matches the template values.

A complete list of templates is available for download (updated regularly) and the software allows the user to create custom templates.

The VSFR is capable of testing electronic and vacuum actuators (electronic types require a separate actuator controller, such as theTT ATP 100)

The patented multi-adapter kit included with the VSFR allows installation of most smaller turbo cores by changing only a single adapter ring.

For regular use, a wide range of standard adapters is also available.

ACTUATOR TEST

ELECTRONIC ACTUATOR CONTROLLER


Available as an optional extra, the ATP 100 will drive virtually all electronic actuators. Used in conjunction with the VSFR, the ATP 100 allows flow adjustment of electronic actuators in addition to vacuum and pressure types.
